Health and Nutrition

Nutrition is about eating a healthy and balanced diet.
Food and drink provide the energy and nutrients we all need to be healthy.
Combining the proper nutrition with exercise is essential for the growing minds and bodies of our children.

Exercise

More and more evidence shows that children who are active tend to have fewer behavioural and disciplinary problems, do better in school and have longer attention spans in class. Physical activity also helps children build confidence, decrease stress and decrease depression.

Physical Literacy is a key component to teaching children healthy practices for life. We encourage as much physical activity as we can - inside and outside. Children are never without a chance to stretch their legs, even with inclement weather. We have 9 outdoor playgrounds for infants up to Kindergarten, an outdoor picnic area and an acre of green space that is great for nature and science walks. We also have 2 indoor gym spaces, for rainy days and those long cold winter days. Children will always have the opportunity to continue with physical activity.

Our program includes the calming benefits of learning yoga to support better focus and calmness in the class.

Nutrition

Food provided in childcare has an important role to play in the growth and development of children and the development of future eating habits. We provide a nutritious balance with many flavourful options that appeal to children.

I was glad to see that there was no issue with accommodating my child’s allergy I have been at other facilities where it was a challenge, thanks!”
